Happiness...

OK so I know it has been a year, but maybe I'll get better at this. I was thinking about all the little things that make people happy. For me, its a toss up between my apartment/home being clean, and mango orange juice. Well it is for today anyways. I wonder about something little that everyone else likes? Rain on a hot day? A smile from a stranger? What ever it is I want to find it in the people around me. I don't like it when people are sad (Well unless they hurt my family, roommates or friends, then they deserve to be sad). I wonder what my day would be like if all I thought about was making someone else happy. I bet it would be awesome. That's probably why the Savior is always so happy, he likes to make others happy. Humm something to think about I guess...

I had the opportunity to go home for the 4th of July weekend and I once again realized just how much I love my hometown. Eagar is a place where you will find a flag flying in town no matter what time of year it is, a place where the soldiers are supported even if the people don’t agree with the reasons the soldiers are in the Middle East, it is a place where you stand and remove your had out of respect when the flag comes down the street because you recognize just how much of a sacrifice was put into making our country free. The people understand that our government isn’t always going to be the best but you are going to do all that you can to be better citizens by making you community better first. It is a place where you are not afraid to pray in public and realize that everything we have comes from God, and once you start forgetting that you fail in every aspect of your life. Freedom isn’t free, and Round Valley respects those who are keeping America free and safe. So on behalf of Round Valley Arizona, THANK YOU SOLDIERS!

Doubt is a destroyer of faith. Doubt is a cause of fear. “Faith and fear cannot coexist, one gives way to the other” (Kevin W. Person Ensign May 2009, 40). When we let faith give way to fear and doubt we are left feeling inadequate and alone. In the world we live in today we see a lot of non belief in God. People have said that God cannot exist because bad things happen to us. Some people believe that if you cannot see, hear, taste, feel, or smell something it does not exist. It is not by the five sences that we can know God, it takes faith. Faith is “a hope for things which are not seen which are true” (Joel 3: 16). It can be hard to have faith because it is a hope and not a sure knowledge.
Faith takes work. A muscle in you body needs to be worked everyday in order for it to stay strong. That muscle cannot be cushion or it will become week. Faith is the same way. If we are not constantly working on our faith we will loose it and we will fall into Satan’s temptations. The question arises “how do I build my faith?” The answer comes in “primary answer” form. Pray and read your scriptures. While this may seem juvenile, we are reminded of the scripture “by small and simple things are great things brought to pass” (Alma 37:6). There is a saying that says “if you want to talk to God pray, if you want God to talk to you read your scriptures.” Once we obtain that faith we need to work at it every day to keep it in our lives.
There are so many evidences of God! Faith is hard, but faith can lead to knowledge. If we work hard to obtain it and keep the faith once we have found it, our lives will be blessed. God does love and care about us and he is just waiting on our faith to come to him make us whole.

OK so, I don't know how to work this whole blog thing yet, but I will get it eventually.
